The Company
R.J. Warner-Marchal Ins. Agencies, Inc., is a full service Independent Insurance Agency. By being independent, we can represent a number of companies we believe to be the best available. All types of personal and commercial lines of insurance are offered, including Bonds, Life, and Group.

History . . . . .
On January 15, 1935, R.J. Warner sold his first insurance policy, and thus began the R.J. Warner Insurance Service. Quality products and peronalized service by Mr. Warner led to continued growth of the agency.

Doug Lambert, Mr. Warner’s son-in-law, joined the agency in June 1962, and in 1964 the agency occupied larger office space in the Arcanum Federal Savings & Loan building in downtown Arcanum. Mr. Warner and Mr. Lambert continued the growth pattern of the agency and in 1972 moved the office to 7 North high St. after extensive remodeling.

In October of 1973, Tim Booher joined the agency after receiving his college degree in Business Management.

After more than forty years in the insurance business, R. J. Warner retired in January 1978. His insurance career as well as his community contributions will long be remembered.

The following year the agency was incorporated and soon after that Mr. Lambert and Mr. Booher became co- owners.

In 1983, two major changes developed. The agency moved to new office facilities at 5 South High St., almost doubling the space of the former location and providing room for future expansion. In addition, the internal operations of the agency were automated with the installation of a new computer system.
In mid 1989, the R.J. Warner insurance "family" got a new addition. The Robert L. Marchal Agency in Greenville, Ohio was merged into the operation. This acquisition was extremely positive for both agencies, giving the Marchal Agency access to improved markets and insurance expertise, while the Warner Agency could serve its Greenville clients more efficiently.

To improve customer service and internal agency operation, in 1990 a new micro-system network was placed into operation, providing more efficient data retrieval. In 1995 and again in 1997 new automation systems were placed into service in the agencies to provide the agency staff leading edge technology to better serve agency clients.

In early 1993, the Bob Johnson Agency in Red River, Ohio and the Wendell Miller Agency of near Arcanum were purchased and integrated into the Arcanum and Greenville offices of the Warner "family". These two acquisitions provided a broader customer base as well as access to new companies.

An outstanding insurance career also came to a close in 1993. After more than 30 years service to the agency, Doug Lambert retired on June 30. The agency will miss Mr. Lambert’s leadership and insurance skills, the community will miss his long-time involvement and commitment to local projects, and both wish him a long and enjoyable retirement.

As was the case in previous years, 1994 brought about more expansion. On Sept. 1, 1994, the Spitler Agency in Painter Creek was purchased. This agency joined the Warner insurance "family" by being merged into the existing offices.

Perpetuation is always a matter of major concern for the agency. It is imperative that the R.J. Warner "family" have new leadership developing to meet the challenges the future holds for the agency. This challenge has been met. In 1989 Michael Schlamb joined the agency and was followed by Chad Kreitzer in 1991 and Chad Booher in 1994. In subsequent years all three have become owners. This insures that R.J. Warner Insurance will move into and past the year 2000 and continue to provide quality and professional service to its clients. Continued perpetuation happened in Sept. of 2003. After graduating from Bowling Green University with a degree in finance, Greg Riffell joined us full time in the Arcanum office. Then in 2007 Justin Wilson, after graduating from Wright State University also with a degree in finance, joined the RJ Warner “family” in Arcanum thus continuing our commitment to perpetuation.

Since the turn of the century even more changes have happened in our “family”. Computers have been updated to meet the continued challenge to bring valuable information to our customers even more quickly. Again, Greg Riffell and Justin Wilson joined us in the Arcanum office. Two of the largest changes were the semi-retirement of Tim Booher in January 2001 and the purchase of our Troy office in January of 2005. After selling the agency to Mike Schlamb, Chad Kreitzer, and Chad Booher, Tim was away from the office for about a year before realizing that he missed the insurance business and came back to the office to work on some special projects. One of those special projects turned into the purchase of a new agency in Troy, Ohio, now known as RJ Warner Insurance Agency, LLC. Mr. Booher acts as manager as well as part owner of this new entity.

The future plans of the agency are to experience continued growth through emphasis on a more complete and personalized marketing effort in our current and new market areas.
